Borrowed Boy teaser
synopsis
BILLY FRELAINE is a good-looking, well adjusted fourteen-year-old boy
with an attractive girlfriend named JENNIFER. But Billy is confused
and frustrated that she won't let him get past first base with her.
At the mall, Billy is discussing the subject of girls with his
hormone-driven male friends, some of whom are more worldly than him on
the
subject.
And then...
A mysterious and sexy twenty-four-year-old woman named IRENE approaches
Billy. Much to the surprise of Billy and his
adolescent friends, the much older Irene suggests that Billy share an
ice cream with
her and that they then take a drive together.
Riding in Irene's (stolen) car, it slowly dawns on Billy that they have
traveled for a long time and that they have left the city. Eventually
they arrive at a rundown farmhouse, inhabited by a grizzled, cynical
alcoholic named RICHARD.
Irene is an obsessive and twisted romantic and Billy quickly loses his
virginity to her. But Billy soon realizes that he has in fact run
away from home. On top of that, he must also deal with Richard's
violence, pathos and manipulations.
Back in the city, an intense police detective named LANSDALE is
assigned to find Billy and his kidnapper Irene. But
Detective Lansdale has ghosts of her own and handles the case very
differently than she had planned...
All of the characters discover unexpected truths about real life,
morality
and themselves. Think Blue Velvet, Brokeback Mountain, The
Dreamers or Last Tango In Paris....the road less travelled.
The screenplay Borrowed Boy is a page turner and has many
bizarre and thought provoking twists and insights. Although it is a
drama, there are many moments of black humor.
Enjoy.
